Phillip Island trip

This January was our second year at the Church Missionary Society (CMS) summer school, which has been held at Phillip Island for the last 10 years. It's a great chance to hear about churches in different countries around the world - we had visiting bishops from Tanzania and China who talked about the progress and challenges. The conference also has all of the Victorian missionaries that happen to be back, so we get to meet them all and hear directly about their work.

Phillip Island is a popular holiday destination for Melbournians, so we rented a holiday house with two others from church. Here's a snap of Liam at the house, playing along to a groovy folk song. (We had borrowed some Dan Zane CDs from a friend of Owen's, and all enjoyed them so much that we've ordered a couple as well).

After the CMS conference we stayed for an extra few days and had some more holiday time as a family. This also let Owen have a full week of VicSwim at the local Cowes swimming pool. We had some hot weather during the last few days, and Owen had a great time in the pool. Liam enjoyed the paddling pool but was keen to join in with the big kids!

Owen's swimming progressed very well over summer, with 3 weeks of VicSwim in all. Here's an action pic of him at Coburg pool.
